Interview Spotlight:  Erin Johnson, Marketing Director, Quanex

This week we catch up with one of the great supporters of GlassBuild America, Quanex and their Marketing Director, Erin Johnson.

Road: We understand you have a new product coming out.  Care to share some details with the GlassBuild America audience?

Erin Johnson: We’re excited to unveil the first offering in our Architectural Series. The C3-11300™ window is designed to meet the strict AW performance-grade requirements at a competitive cost. It has the optimal mix of strength, energy performance and aesthetics for commercial installations. The new AW rated window will be in our Innovation Zone, and we’ll also introduce a new collection of house systems with an array of features and benefits that will help customers differentiate in their specific marketplaces. In fact, every window and door system in our booth has been updated with new offerings.

While we’ll have lots of new innovations to talk about, we’ll also showcase many of our proven Window and Door Systems and Components and IG Systems that help customers meet and exceed industry code requirements.

Road:  Time is flying for sure. How has the year gone for the team at Quanex and what do you see on the horizon for 2014?

EJ: It’s been an exciting year so far. Like everyone else, we’ve been keeping a close eye on ENERGY STAR® v6 and other legislation impacting our industry. Our director of external affairs, Ric Jackson, has been pounding the pavement, as they say, to help keep our customers updated about the challenges and opportunities we have in the industry to a make an impact on our own future. In 2014, watch for even more activity from Ric as he continues to be the industry’s eyes and ears in Washington.

Road: Every year at the show, the Quanex booth is a great hub of activity.  What do you have planned for this year’s edition?

EJ: Well, you’ll be pleased to know there will be a high-level of excitement and networking opportunities in our booth once again. You’ll also notice a heightened focus on our marketing support for customers. The digital age has caused a shift in the way consumers buy windows and we have some surprises in store to help them maximize their lead potential online and through social media.
